Launched in October 2024, the KARA Clinical Transformation Program pairs at-home devices with professional follow-up and the right products each month, and was built to solve the industry’s quietest problem: people stop

KARA Clinical Global, the Seoul-based at-home skincare technology company, today announced that the KARA Clinical Transformation Program (KCTP) has surpassed 20,000 active subscribers in Korea. Less than two years after its launch in October 2024, more than 20,000 people are keeping up their routine and renewing their subscription every month.

The device in the drawer

Almost everyone who has bought an at-home skincare device knows the story. The first week is full of enthusiasm. The second week, sessions start to slip. By the second month, the device is in a drawer, and the question of whether it ever worked goes unanswered.

At-home devices have become more sophisticated every year, but the way people use them has barely changed. Routines are copied from social media rather than built for a specific skin. Nobody measures whether anything is actually improving. And once the purchase is made, nobody is there to follow up. The result is an industry that sells more technology than ever, yet leaves most people without the results they were hoping for.

KARA Clinical was founded in Seoul to close that gap. Its co-founders, Seo Min-Jae, whose career was built at the intersection of product innovation and strategic execution, and Ji A, whose background is in facial technology and aesthetic systems, reached the same conclusion from two different directions: the missing piece was not another device, but a system around it.

“We kept seeing the same thing: good technology, used badly, then abandoned. People did not need one more device. They needed a plan, someone to check on them, and a way to see whether it was working. KCTP is that system. The device is only one part of it,” said Seo Min-Jae, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of KARA Clinical.

What KCTP is

The KARA Clinical Transformation Program is a clinical skincare program that turns KARA Clinical’s home-use devices into a guided, measured and supervised routine. Each patient starts with an assessment of her skin, her habits and her goals. A healthcare professional reviews the case and approves a personalized plan: which KARA Clinical devices to use, on which days, in which order, and with which products. From there, the program works in 30-day cycles, each with a mid-point check-in and a new measurement at its close, so progress is compared with data rather than memory.

In Korea, KCTP runs as a monthly subscription. Each renewal includes:

· A plan reviewed and adjusted by a healthcare professional at every cycle.

· Follow-up consultations, with a mid-point check-in and a closing measurement each month.

· Skincare consumables as needed, such as serums, creams, sunscreen, masks, conductive gel and cleansers, adjusted to what the skin requires at each stage.

· A clinical record that keeps answers, photos, professional decisions and completed sessions in one place, so the professional always sees the full evolution rather than an isolated visit.

The devices at the heart of the program include the Auren and Auren Pro LED masks, the RFusion Pro radiofrequency device and the Oxy Pro high-frequency device, which are supported by four randomized controlled trials with a combined 840 participants.

Why the products change every month

The monthly subscription is not a fixed box. What a patient receives depends on what her skin needs at that moment, and that decision belongs to the professional, not to a sales calendar.

“A subscription only makes sense clinically if it adapts. Nobody should receive the same products every month by default. The professional reviews each cycle and decides what the skin needs next, and sometimes the right answer is less, not more,” said Dr. Heewon Suh, Chief Medical Officer of KARA Clinical.

Why people stay

For KARA Clinical, 20,000 active subscribers is less a sales figure than evidence that continuity can be designed. Every element of the program exists to answer the moment when people usually quit: the plan removes the guesswork, the check-in arrives before motivation fades, and the new measurement shows whether the effort is paying off.

“We wanted each month to feel like a small moment of care rather than a delivery. The consultation, the products, the evening routine with the device: together they should feel like a ritual people look forward to, not an obligation they have to remember. When the experience feels like that, people do not need to be convinced to continue,” said Ji A, Co-Founder and Creative Director of KARA Clinical.

“The hardest part of skincare is not starting. It is continuing. Twenty thousand people renewing every month tells us the system works. Recurrence is not something we push; it is what happens when people see the routine is worth keeping,” added Seo Min-Jae.
